Teaching & Experience

  • Formally an Associate Professor  at the University of Northampton, teaching Strategy & International Business.
  • Active in regional development projects linking the South East Midlands with key Chinese cities and provinces under an innovative multi-stakeholder regional collaboration strategy.
  • Taught at Aston University, the Hotel School, Lausanne and HEC, Paris, and was an external examiner at the University of Buckingham and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators (ICSA, now The Governance Institute) – for whom he co-authored a textbook entitled ‘Strategy in Practice’.
  • Research interests are in the area of corporate citizenship – issues surrounding CSR-ESG and responsible and inclusive capitalism.
  • The creation and measurement of social value and ‘collective impact’ in which the public-private-academic-social sectors work together to produce solutions for the long-term prosperity of the community.
  • I have undertaken research with Grant Thornton and have worked on a project to measure the social impact of employee-owned businesses.
